In one of the longest final tables ever, (over 6 hours), Theresa Gilbert Chelsea Coulson went head to head. The chips went back and forth with the title going either way several times. Finally in the end, Theresa hit the jackpot for the win!

What an amazing time it was to watch the inaugural WPT Ladies Championship filming! The battle between Vanessa Selbst and Nancy Todd Tyner was incredible!
Vanessa had Nancy out chipped for most of the event, but in the end, Nancy put the heat on and took the lead and then the title! Congratulations Nancy!

Another great year in Tunica Mississippi where 237 women competed for the $68K prize pool! Heads up challenge went to Helen Ellis of NY, NY and Christy King of Lakeland, TN when in the final hand Helen's pocket kings were cracked by Christy's call with Kh6h and flushed it out for the win! And win she did... She took home over $22k!

Holiday time in Vegas is a blast!! And this LIPS event was no different! Women from England, Canada and the US all got togther to battle this one out. In the end, Barbara Skidmore from Las Vegas took down the win! Congrats Barbara!

With $6,500 added to the prize pool, women enjoyed over a $40K prize pool! The pros were out in force and Pros Karina Jett and Barbara Enright were at the final table! But, the day was not over until Denice Seebart of John Day Oregon took down the win and is this years Fall Champion!

Orleans Casino kicked off their monthly Ladies event this month and if you haven't visited the casino lately, you need to! It's been totally remodeled and it's simply wonderful in the poker room. Two sisters traveled to vegas to play in the LIPS event and the favored sister lost out to the sister with the least tournament experience! Congrats to Rachel Cardinal of Hammond Ontario Canada! Our first "international" winner!

Another amazing event in Minnesota's Canterbury Park! 213 women competed for nine long hours and tough competition. We finally went heads up with Michelle Durant of Plymouth, MN and Joanne Kittridge of Bloomington, MN. Final hand was Michelle's AK against Joanne's KQ and a queen hit the board making her this years LIPS Champion!

An amazing day kicked off by a few words from Annie Duke, and in support was Karina Jett and Marsha Waggoner. 152 women began the battle and when it was all said and done, it was Diana Korkis, now a two-time LIPS Champion taking home $17,087 and $1,500 in seats!

The first of the four part series at Hollywood Park was played with 26 women. The smaller group provided an opportunity for many to get to know each other better and after 7 hours of play, we had a winner! A deal was made in the final three and they played for the title and the seat to the Championship! Lisa Santy came from way behind to take it down and will represent Hollywood Park at the LIPS Championship next year!

The Champion's enjoyed a fabulous event sponsored by Poker School Online with invited guests such as Linda Johnson, Jan Fisher, Kathy Liebert, Susie Isaacs, PSO's Dean Al Spath and Fayer Dietiker from Breast Cancer Angels. After dinner was the Best of the Best Champion's Tournament. Heads up between Debby Perkins from Card Player Cruises and Gretchen Shoengarth from Egyptian Club... Gretchen hung in there and claimed the title! Congrats Gretchen!

An all around great poker player loves this kind of tournament as it showcases a player’s skill and experience in more than one kind of poker game. As it was apparent that some players were less experienced in other games of poker beside Holdem, the small buy-in of $65 with $15 rebuy allowed player’s an affordable lesson in a tournament setting. After 16 hours of play Annie Lu of Las Vegas took down the first place prize of $2465.

Day three of the championship, sponsored by Poker School Online brought out 289 players. Of the top 24 cashers, nine of them are LIPS Champions! No mistake there... play was fierce and wonderful. After 2 ½ hours of heads up play, Debbie Burkhead and Bea Hinton finished the tournament when Debbie Burkhead becomes the LIPS Grand Championship with a set of Queens.

After 10 hours of play, the final table kicked off and Diana Korkis rose up victorious. She won her first place money, and a seat into the historic Commerce Casino/LIPS/WPT $1,000 buy in for February and a seat into the LIPS Tour Championship where she will represent Commerce Casino as a Champion.

At the end of the day, final table winners battled it out until there were two left, Kim Hyunhye from Lawndale, CA and Laura Wilson from Canada. They went back and forth for quite awhile and at one point were almost even in chips. But a couple of key hands and it was over when Kim hit the winning hand giving her the win and the seats to the other events.

WPT Ladies Night is an event no one will forget! Amidst all the lights and cameras, it went heads up between the novice Kelli Griggs who gave everyone a run for their money, and JJ Liu, the seasoned professional. In the end, experience won out giving JJ the win and the seat to the WPT Championship event.

The LIPSTOUR stopped in at Harrah's Las Vegas for the WSOP Circuit Tour. Dorothy Canada from Las Vegas won the Trophy and $8260. She will represent Harrahs Casino at the Grand Championship to be held at Binions in May 2006.
